Multiplication by Multipliers Ending with Zero
A number, when multiplied by 1, gives the number itself.
5 × 1 = 5
When a number is multiplied by 10, we put a zero to the right of the multiplicand to get the product.
5 × 10 = 50
In general, when we multiply a number by 10, 100, 1000, etc., we put 0, 00, 000 to the right of the number.
67 × 100 = 6700 and 436 × 1000 = 436000
Multiplicative Property of Zero
When a number is multiplied by 0, the product is always 0.
25 × 0 = 0
536 × 0 = 0
Order Property of Multiplication
A change in the order of the two numbers does not change the product of the two numbers.
7 × 6 = 42
6 × 7 = 42
120 × 4 = 480
4 × 120 = 480
