- Many things that we use or see in our daily lives are made from clay.
- Clay is first kneaded like a dough. Then, it is put on a spinning wheel and given a shape.
- After drying it, it is put in a potter’s oven, called a kiln. Then the pot is ready for use.
- Patterns are also drawn on these items to make them attractive.
- Patterns can be found everywhere in nature, like spots on a leopard or stripes on a zebra, or beautiful designs on a butterfly.
- The houses we live in are made of bricks. Bricks are also made just like pots.
- But the bricks are not made on a spinning wheel. The clay is put into a mould and after drying, it is baked in the kiln.
